1921D VAM-7A Doubled Ear and Left Stars,
Die Break Wing Tip
Reclassification find by Rob Joyce, March 2005
(Desirability:
)
VAM-7 Discovered by Herb Zepke, August 2000
Condition Census: 63PCI, 61R, 58R, 55R, 55R (Total: 2 MS, 7 Circ.)
The VAM-7 variety has a slightly doubled lower right inside ear.
Additionally, all of the left stars are doubled toward rim as is the lower
edge of top crossbar of both 1s in the date and the first two right stars.

Late die states show heavy die cracks along the top of the letters TED,
extending to the right wing tip with a small die chip on right side of wing
tip. The die cracks on the UNITED side of the wing outline a
displaced field area on late die state coins. This displaced field is
more desirable than coins with just the die chip on the STATES side of the
wing. We are still looking for a coin where this displaced field
becomes a full die break. Such a discovery would be notable as this
would be a huge break.
