1921S VAM-1B5
Discovered by Michael S. Fey, March 2002
New die gouge out the back of the cap, located higher than the
VAM-1B1 gouge. New gouge
over BU of PLURIBUS. Gouges near the 4th left star. Other gouges
remain from VAM-1B4a.

All the VAM-1B coins share the same
characteristic die gouge between the leaf and the cap. It is visible with
the naked eye and is useful when checking a lot of coins while
cherry-picking.
