1921S VAM-1B1

1921S VAM-1B1

Discovered by Rob Joyce, March 2003

Die gouge through Liberty's cap emerging at the back of the cap near the first U of UNUM.  Another large gouge emerges looking like a spike below the second U of UNUM.

No gouges by the B of PLURIBUS and the rear of the wheat leaf is intact and without gouges.

No reverse die gouges.

All the VAM-1B coins share the same characteristic die gouge between the leaf and the cap.  It is visible with the naked eye and is useful when checking a lot of coins while cherry-picking.
